Get off to a good start with fresh weaned calves or new arrivals
It seems that the stress of weaning and/or moving cattle typically leads to some sick animals. A friend asked me to come up with the best, simple thing to do for receiving sale-barn cattle. The following is what I came up with…
1) At Valley Vet Supply HERE the largest gel cap is a 17376. If you mixed 1/2 sea salt, 1/4 Redmond conditioner, 1/4 baking soda and then filled the gel caps up... ~put two down the throat of each new arrival. They should transition to your place more readily.
2) Make Mineral Water HERE and off it in a second tank if possible (or every other day if only one tank, not metal, with a float, 3 gallons capacity per animal). In the video I say imbalanced and I wish I would have used the words OUT OF BALANCE.
The longer explanation is HERE Poke around on that page and you can find a more complete explanation.
